Current role & recent work

My current role is a product designer II with Nelnet — America’s largest private student loan company. And, no, I can’t “accidentally” delete your remaining loan balance, but… I can tell you how to record a K-12 student’s attendance!

I work on Nelnet’s FACTS SIS (Student Information System). This is a platform that allows our K-12 customers to control everything for their school: attendance, gradebook, cafeteria orders, communication systems, and even locker assignments! It is not lost on me that I have (unintentionally) enabled teachers to tattle on their students.
